Pokémon 30th Celebration: Australian release date, products and what to expect

On 16 September 2026 the Pokémon Trading Card Game turns 30, and for the first time in the game's history, the set will arrive everywhere on the same day.

Here's everything you need to know. 

What is in the 30th anniversary set? 

  • Every card is foil. Including the Basic Energy.
  • Each booster pack holds 5 foil cards, one foil Basic Energy and a Pokémon TCG Live code card
    • One of those 5 foil cards is guaranteed to be a Pikachu, drawn from 30 unique illustrations by 30 different artists 
  • A new rarity debuts. Futuristic Rare, or FUR, lands on Mew ex and Mewtwo ex with artwork by graphic artist YOSHIROTTEN. 
  • 30 cards from the game's history return in a special finish as the Classic Collection, led by the Base Set Charizard.

When does the 30th anniversary set release in Australia?

16 September 2026, the same day as everywhere else. That being said, time zones mean the exact moment of availability will differ.

The Ultra-Premium Collection, or UPC, is the flagship product. 29 booster packs plus a 3-card Classic Collection pack.

Will there be a 30th anniversary booster box? 

There is no English booster box.

Packs are never sold on their own for a special set, so the only way in is through a product, and the most pack-dense product is the UPC that does not arrive until 6 November 2026. 

That being said, in Japan you are able to purchase a 20-pack Booster Box.

Is there a 30th Celebration booster box?

Not in English. The UPC, with 29 packs plus the Classic Collection pack, is the closest English equivalent.

Can I buy the packs on their own?

No. Like every special set, packs only exist inside products.

No. Same artwork, new print, 2026 set number.
